A Quick RunDown of the Week

This past week was a true exercise in balance—juggling home maintenance, garden clean-up, and renovation errands alongside my regular client training and personal workouts. Between navigating some gorgeous fall days, sneaking in a long walk, and needing to catch up on some much-needed sleep after a tough night, it turned out to be a wonderfully full and productive week. Here is a quick look at how all the pieces came together!

Overview of the Week

Before getting into each day’s workouts, here’s an overview of my workouts from this past week. Scroll beyond the infographic for daily details…

Sunday

Walking: 3.33 miles
• Average pace: 15:13 minute/mile
• Surface: paved
• Elevation gain: 199 feet
• Start time: 12:36 PM
• Location: neighborhood trails
• Weather: 55° and sunny, climbing to 58°
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, nylon shell and gloves (took jacket and gloves off after a mile)

Gardening: 1-½ hours

Stretching: Peloton 5-Minute Post-Run Stretch with Kirsten Ferguson

After a relaxing morning with church and a few chores around the house, I headed out for a walk before diving into an hour and a half of fall garden cleanup. It was a good start, but I still have plenty left to do!

Monday

Strength training: Peloton 45-Minute HiLit+: Lower Body Strength W2 D1 with Rebecca Kennedy

Strength training: 16 minutes of core and stability (bicycle crunch, dead bug, Pilates swimmer, birddog, forearm planks, single-leg balance on pad)

After an early morning strength class and training my clients, I fully intended to get out for a walk later in the day. However, running bathroom renovation errands and making a Walmart trip completely wiped me out, so the walk never happened.

Tuesday

Cycling: 10.83 miles
• Average pace: 14.4 MPH
• Surface: N/A
• Elevation gain: N/A
• Start time: 10:38 AM
• Location: Basement
• Weather: 66° in the basement, 61° and sunny outside
• What I wore: shorts and sports bra

Stretching: Peloton 5-Minute Post-Ride Stretch with Alex Toussaint

Walking: 6.0 miles
• Average pace: 16:23 minute/mile
• Surface: paved
• Elevation gain: 230 feet
• Start time: 1:28 PM
• Location: W&OD Trail
• Weather: 68° and sunny, climbing to 70°
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, and visor

Bound and determined to get back on my Peloton bike, I hopped on for a class after finishing up with my clients. Later, I walked home after dropping my husband’s SUV off at the dealer for service. I even made a new big-eyed green friend on my walk!

Wednesday

Strength training: Peloton 45-Minute HiLit+: Upper Body Strength W2 D3 with Rebecca Kennedy

Walking: 3.07 miles
• Average pace: 15:08 minute/mile
• Surface: paved
• Elevation gain: 178 feet
• Start time: 12:44 PM
• Location: neighborhood trails
• Weather: 62° and sunny, climbing to 64°
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, and visor

Strength training: 13 minutes of core and stability (bridge pumps, dead bug, Pilates swimmer, birddog, single-leg stand on pad)

It was another gorgeous fall day! After finishing a morning strength class, I didn’t want to waste the lovely weather, so I made sure to get outside for a walk.

Thursday

Stretching: Peloton 10-Minute Lower Body Stretch with Andy Speer

I’d gone to bed exhausted and with a headache (probably seasonal allergies) the night before, so I had to bow out of my early morning virtual cardio workout with Kim. Instead, I slept until 7 AM and took a well-deserved rest day from structured exercise, aside from a gentle stretch class.

Friday

Strength training: Peloton 45-Minute HiLit+: Lower Body Strength W2 D5 with Rebecca Kennedy

Strength training: 21 minutes of core and stability (crunch, oblique crunch, dead bug, Pilates swimmer, birddog, bridge pumps, single-leg balance on pad)

Balance and stretching: 45 minutes

After tackling a tough Peloton strength workout, I finished up with my own core routine before heading over to the 55+ community to teach my balance and stretching class.

Saturday

Walking: 3.15 miles
• Average pace: 15:28 minute/mile
• Surface: paved
• Elevation gain: 142 feet
• Start time: 12:32 PM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 59° and sunny, climbing to 61°
• What I wore: shorts, s/s shirt, and visor

Stretching: Peloton 5-Minute Post-Run Stretch with Jon Hosking

I had an October weekend walking badge on the line, so I made sure to get outside for a 3-mile walk midday. Toss in some early morning family time, errands, household chores, and evening Mass, and it turned into a very busy day!
