Join me by pulling up a chair and pouring yourself a cup of coffee. As always, though, I’m sticking to water since I don’t care for coffee or tea. Let’s take a break and try to talk about more than just fitness-related topics. Sound like a plan? I’ll kick us off…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that…..

June was another great fitness month, and I even sneaked in one short little run to celebrate Global Running Day! My cycling stats were still a tad higher than normal because I was wrapping up the final days of the Great American Ride at the very beginning of the month. Aside from all the miles on the bike, I stayed right on track with my weekly goals: logging 15 miles of walking and getting in three 1-hour strength training sessions every week.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask…..

If you live in the US, do you have any fun Independence Day plans? For us, we’re hoping to tackle our somewhat annual Covered Bridges ride through Maryland and Pennsylvania. My husband and I even bought special America 250 jerseys from one of our local bike shops—complete with a giant eagle on the back—just for the occasion! We’ve also loved extending the route right into the Gettysburg Battlefields in recent years, which is the plan for this year, too. Here’s hoping we can get out early to beat the heat and show off our new gear, though the weather forecast isn’t looking too promising!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that…..

When Lisa at TechChick Adventures asked which national parks I’ve visited to date, it sparked a fun idea: adding our wooden national parks map to my blog sidebar! The picture below will now have a permanent home on the right side of the blog, and I’ll update it as we check more parks off our list. If you want a closer look, simply click on the image to enlarge it!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that…..

Following up on last month’s chat, it looks like WordPress finally fixed that frustrating spacing glitch! I am thrilled to report that I no longer have to dive into the HTML and manually rewrite code just to get my layout to behave.

I’d tell you  that I’m now shopping at the stores my mom used to shop at – Chico’s and Talbots.

  • Questions:
  • • Do you have any fun plans or favorite traditions for the Independence Day weekend? ~ We’re hoping to tackle the bike ride I mentioned, and then we’ll wrap up the day at our neighborhood’s fireworks display!
  • • How do you keep track of your favorite trips or races? Are you a fan of visual maps or graphics, or do you just stick to a simple list?
  • • If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
